THE MOST BEAUTIFUL ISLAND BEACHES IN THE WORLD

So you might ask, what do I define as a beautiful beach? You may say, how do I know? You are right, what may seem beautiful to me may not to you, but this is the typical white sands, tropical feel, typical beach/island top 5. And I have visited most of the “typical, popular beaches, except Bora Bora, which I am sure would make my top 5, but I have not been there.

1.SEYCHELLES

Seychelles are just stunning. It is my number 1 place in the world as it is and the tropical beaches with jungle feel and rock formations are just breathtaking. They really are! Especially, La Digue beach. It is the hardest to reach but well worth it. Praslin is the next in terms of the island beauty followed by Mahe. But not to say that Mahe is not beautiful - I spent most time there and found beaches without any tourists. Mahe is also a great island to explore by the car. Seychelles are not that expensive as everyone thinks. Yes, of course you can splurge, but you can also do it more affordability.

2. MALDIVES

Honeymoon destination. Yes, I would say it is - especially if you like tranquil and slow beach life. There is not much else to do except admire beautifully clear blue water (yes, it is the clearest I have seen, and the sand is the whitest I have seen), eat and enjoy water sports, snorkelling and diving. It is definitely not a cheap place to visit, but there are resorts that are more affordable. If you are okay to stay in the beach bungalow instead of water villa and look for a resort closer to the Male airport you can save some money. All islands are only reachable by boat or seaplane so the further the island from Male is, the more expensive your transfer will be (seaplanes are around £300). Most islands are isolated and you will be 'stuck' on that island - which can be great and not so great. Anyhow, for me 4 days in Maldives were more than enough as I need more active holidays, but it is definitely one of the most beautiful beaches I have seen. Well, after Seychelles.

3. PHILIPPINES

Probably not the typical country to be known for an amazing beaches. Well, at least I did not expect Philippines to be in my top 5. Boracay, especially surprised me with the white sands and blue turquoise water. And of course, the Asian vibe there! And tasty mangoes. I am a massive fan of Asia, however I never thought it has the best beaches - I love the region for different reasons. But now I have found my little paradise beaches also in Asia. El Nido in Palawan is another stunning area in Philippines. It has beautiful rock formations, blue clear waters and is great for snorkelling.

4. WHITSUNDAYS

I believe Whitsundays is on many travellers bucket list and it is there for a reason. Again, offering beautiful mix of clear blue waters with white sanded beaches. The lookout to the beach from the hop of the hill in the jungle just right by the beach is also impressive. You can even see rays swimming at the bottom - that is how clear the water is. And as a bonus, Australia ranks my number one liveable country in the world so owning an island this beautiful is a big pro. Well worth visiting.

5. CUBA

Caribbean is area well known for paradise looking beaches. And do not get me wrong, they are, however I feel like Indian Ocean (and Pacific, however I have not been there) offers better beaches. Not to say, Caribbean is not beautiful. And there comes my number 5 - Cuban beaches. The beaches, especially in Cayo Coco are just stunning. And in addition, Cuba has history to offer and takes you back 50 years. It is definitely my favourite Caribbean island.
